Tender black eyed peas simmered in garlic, onion and cilantro. Chopped greens are then cooked through, resulting in a delicious meal.
THE INGREDIENTS
A total of 8 ingredients are needed in this healthy meal. You can use any type of greens you like.
Start by
Sweating finely diced onions, chopped cilantro and crushed garlic. Gosh that smells so good!
Add the black eyed peas
Cook them for ten minutes, they will have started to soften.
Add the greens
I used Swiss chard, you can use other types of greens, such as spinach, collard or sorrel.
Serve
With some lemon juice and enjoy! I grew up eating mine with pita! Yum!!
