Enjoy a caffeine free warm drink of moringa latte.

Get a boost of energy without the caffeine, it's awesome!

I am an avid enthusiast of matcha latte, coffee, and hot chocolate, yet I am consciously reducing my caffeine intake due to its impact on my adrenals.

Discovering Moringa was a great revelation. not only is it caffeine-free, but it can also be prepared as a latte. I occasionally indulge in this warm drink for breakfast, accompanied by a nutritious bowl of quinoa flakes porridge adorned with fresh fruit.

Ingredients

Moringa power, maple syrup and almond milk

Use a good quality organic moringa powder, with your preferred sweetener of choice and milk. So simple!

Janelle's Tips

  • Moringa possesses a subtle bitterness reminiscent of matcha. If you're new to this super food, start with half a teaspoon and gradually increase the amount. I find that one teaspoon is ideal for a generously sized mug.
  • If you prefer less milk, mix the moringa powder with hot water before adding your desired amount of milk. For added richness, consider making a cashew creamer .
  • If you seek a caffeine boost, combine equal parts of moringa powder and matcha powder for your latte.

      Hi Laura,

      Yes, it can. You can do it two ways;
      1. Add cold milk to the moringa powder (plus your sweetener) and agitate. I used a shake bottle and just shook it for a minute until well combined.
      2. Pour the moringa latte over ice and serve that way.

You can add moringa to a smoothie if you like.

      Enjoy!

It is so interesting to read about Moringa, I didn't know its origins or uses. This is a great way to use it, as a drink is so easy to make, and enjoy. A perfect way to get some nutrition in to your system.

Never heard of a moringa latte before, but now I am intrigued! I've had a hard time with matcha lattes but I will try this version out as well - would love to have a green healthy treat to sip in between coffees!

Try it! You might be able to enjoy this one, but it does taste very similar. Just for the health benefits it's worth it. Good luck!

This is a great recipe to make use of Moringa!

I live in the Philippines and we call this Malunggay. May I ask if there is an option to use the leaves instead of the powder? The leaves are common in our marketplaces while the powder is quite hard to find. Thanks so much.

      Hi Abi,
I've personally never used the leaves, but you should be able to brew them into a tea and then add frothy milk.
      Hope that helps.
