With the rise of plant based diets and lifestyles, plant based smoothies are becoming increasingly popular as they are a highly nutritious meal that can be whipped up in minutes.

Benefits of Plant Based Smoothies

Here are some (but not limited to) potential health benefits:

  • A good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
  • A healthy alternative to sugary drinks.
  • Assist with weight loss or maintain a healthy weight.
  • Improve your overall health and well-being.

Tips for Making Plant Based Smoothies

It's important to use dairy free milk and or yogurt as the liquid component.

Some great options include almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, oat milk or homemade hemp seed milk.

If you are purchasing dairy free milk, always opt for the unsweetened variety, as you can control the sweetness when making your smoothie.

To achieve the desired consistency, it's important to blend the ingredients thoroughly.

I highly recommend using a high-powdered blender (affiliate link) which can make the ingredients super smooth and creamy.

Make sure to blend for at least 1 minute or until the smoothie is completely smooth, the thickness can always be adjusted after blending by adding either more solids or liquids.

Customize to fit your tastes or dietary needs, experiment with different fruits, vegetables, and superfoods to create exciting flavor combinations.

Additionally, you can add plant-based protein powder, nut butters, or other supplements (if you are that way inclined) to boost the nutritional value of your smoothie.

Sweetened with dates, this banana and peach blend is made with a base of dairy free yogurt, bananas, peaches and pepitas.

Pink dragon fruit give this smoothie its vibrant color, although, you can use white ones too. This thick beverage is super light made with a base of coconut water.
