A cold creamy blackberry strawberry banana smoothie made with fresh and frozen fruit, dairy free yogurt and sweetened naturally.
I recently went for a walk in the local bushland with a friend and stumbled upon a large bush of wild blackberries.
It was such a delightful find, and we picked a bunch of them. The berries were so sweet and fresh that I decided to make this berrylicious smoothie.
Inspired by this walk, and I can't wait to go back and pick some more. I might try mixing some in with my pineapple and mango version. Yum!
Ingredients Highlight
Here are notes on some of the ingredients, the complete list with measurements, can be found in the full recipe card below.
I used a combination of blackberries and strawberries, which can be fresh or frozen. These are blended with ripe banana, the skin should have a few brown spots.
I recommend making sure either the banana or berries are frozen.
There’s no hard rule for this, but this will ensure your vegan smoothie has a nice consistency when combined with plain dairy-free yogurt that’s unsweetened.
Janelle's Tips
Use filtered water to adjust the consistency as you require.
Sometimes I like adding an all-natural nut butter. Try peanut, almond, or cashew butters. This mango and strawberry combination includes peanut butter.
