Spicy Maple Syrup is my new obsession, sweet, fiery, and unbelievably easy to make. With just 3 ingredients, you’ll have a bold, versatile condiment in minutes. Drizzle it over pancakes, glaze roasted veggies, or stir it into oatmeal for a spicy-sweet kick. Adjust the heat to your liking and get ready to pour it on everything!

I love this syrup as it’s so simple yet transformative. The best part? It’s completely customizable.
Adjust the spice level to suit your taste, add more chili flakes for heat or tone it down with a little extra maple syrup. Once you try it, you’ll want to put it on everything when possible, similarly to my caramel date sauce.
Ingredients and Instructions

This is as easy as it gets. You just need three ingredients: maple syrup, red chili flakes, and cayenne pepper. If you like things extra spicy, add a little more cayenne powder; if you want it milder, go easy on the chili flakes. You could also try using your preferred dried chili.
To make it, grab a small saucepan and pour in the maple syrup. Add the red chili flakes and cayenne powder, then set it over low heat. Let it warm up for about five minutes, stirring now and then to help the flavors meld.
Once it’s done, take it off the heat and let it cool slightly. If you like a smooth syrup, strain out the chili flakes using a fine sieve or cheesecloth, otherwise, leave them in for extra texture and heat.
I've taken photos of both versions for you to see, I like the strained version on pancakes or even in my coffee and the non-strained version for savory foods like curries, sauces or my baked noodles - which I'm obsessed with btw..
Storage
Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month. Give it a good stir or shake before using, as the spices may settle.
