🧂What is vegan ranch seasoning mix?

It is a dairy-free mixture of dry herbs and spices including parsley, chives, onion powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, and seasoning.

It is easily stored in an air-tight container in the pantry for several months.

The important ingredients of any ranch seasoning mix are herbs, onions and garlic.

😋Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Ready in minutes, yet can be stored for several months in the pantry
  • Can be used as a seasoning or mixed up to create a vegan ranch dressing/sauce
  • 100% all-natural using ingredients that can be adjusted to suit your liking
  • Dietary friendly - vegan, gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free and oil-free

✔️Ingredients You'll Need

6 bowls containing nutritional yeast, onion powder, dried chives, dried parsley, garlic powder, mustard powder, salt and pepper

The complete list of ingredients with measurements, can be found in the full recipe card below.

Dried parsley flakes is easily found in the spice section of your local supermarket. If you are using your own dried parsley, run it briefly in a spice mill to turn the leaves into flakes (this is what I do).

Dried chives are again easily found in the spice section of your local supermarket.

Onion powder and garlic powder are the main flavorings of any ranch dressing. Don't skimp on these. You could also use granulated garlic instead, and adjust the amount to suit to your liking. Wondering what is granulated garlic?

Nutritional yeast also adds a lovely umami flavoring (mildly cheezy), though you can leave this out if preferred. This is normally found in the health food section at your local supermarket or can be purchase nooch here.

Mustard powder adds a mild zing and pepperiness.

Salt and pepper. I love using Himalayan salt and freshly cracked pepper always adds better pepperiness.

🧂How To Make Vegan Ranch Seasoning

Step 1 - In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together until well combined.

Step 2 - Place all the ingredients in an airtight container and store in the pantry for several months.

🧂Variations

Dried dill or thyme can also be added to this seasoning mix.

You can minus or add any of the ingredients as you like.

To use fresh herbs instead, simply replace the dried herbs with the fresh and use the mix immediately.

🧂Serving Suggestions

Turn this ranch seasoning into a dressing/sauce - try it as a vegan avocado lime dressing without oil or as a cashew ranch dressing or a vegan bbq ranch dressing.

Toss it through a salad.

I like coating air-fried potatoes before frying them or any type of roast veggies will be delicious.

I also love sprinkling some on oven roasted artichokes halves with olive oil or popcorn.

❓FAQ

Can I leave out the nutritional yeast in vegan ranch mix?

Absolutely, it is not mandatory to use it, you can simply leave it out and not replace it with any other type of seasoning. If you are using nutritional yeast it will give out a slight nutty cheezy flavoring.

I’m allergic to mustard as well. Will it still taste good to omit that or is there a good substitution?

You can leave it out or try substituting horseradish?

So good. I usually make a load of steamed veggies for the week which I have been adding this ranch seasoning too. Trying to lose weight and make tasty food isn’t easy. This seasoning helps with flavoring.
